Yes they do! I picked up a Ambassadeur 4600 (Bass Pro Shops Royal Express w/ 6.3:1 gears) that needed a little work for $20. I took it to Southwest Parts & Service paid for cleaning and they also replaced the worm gear. So now I have around $50 tied into this reel.

I loaded it with 10 lb. Big Game and use it to cast 1/8 oz Teeny Pop R's to hungry creek bass on a 6 1/2 ft medium action rod. Fun stuff with light line!

I have a 4500 and a 4500CS and I use both when throwing crankbait lures. It's easy to fine-tune them when casting lures into the wind.

I love my old 5500C's although my 68 year old shoulder keeps telling my brain to stop casting it! I fish salt water in the winter with it and it does give me more trouble than my other baitcasters. The release button begins to lock up on me even though I rinse the reels each time I get home. In their defense, I do not take them apart and clean, oil and grease them like I did 30 years ago. I have 3 of them and have considered sending them to the guys who advertise on this site for a good tune up. Anyone have any idea of what they usually charge for this if major parts are not required? Thanks in advance....../Mike)

Message coastal tackle he works on salt water reels.

He is fairly close to you.

One you build and fish with your own hand built custom rod you will fish with nothing else!
