Thinking about heading there this weekend. Heading south on Garza, how far to the point can you drive/park? Is it paved/gravel? I just want to find out if I will be able to drive all the way to the end because I am semi-handicapped. I was also wondering if the bank is rocky/sand/grass? Is this a park that has hours? If so what are they and is there a fee?

I apologize for the many questions but I have a permanently injured knee and foot. I just don't want to drive all the way there if the access will be tough for a guy like me.

Probably not a good place for you to go. Long walk and rock banks/brushy. Be better off at westlake park.

I live with Fear everyday but sometimes she lets me go fishin

Dang, that's what I was afraid of. I went to westlake last night but they have so many rocks on that east shoreline I had to go to the west side. And I believe that means less fish.

THANKS TOM!

When you were at the east side of Westlake you could see the old dam in front of you. You'd have to walk at least 1/4 mile on rocky gravel road to find any fishing spot. Toms right, the dam is probably not good if you have a bad knee.

As a side note, when I went up to Lake Texoma gently to do some bank fishing, I noticed The lake authority has all of the courtesy loading docks set up so that one half is for loading/unloading boats, and the other half is for fishing. The signs also say that handicapped anglers have first priority for fishing the docks.

I thought that was really cool because it allows handicapped fishermen the opportunity to fish where otherwise it's too hard to access the banks. I think other lakes should take that initiative. Especially on lewisville....if you are in a wheelchair you have almost zero places you can safely bank fish.
