This is for all the pleasure boaters and holiday boaters who have trouble backing their boat trailers.
How about someone sitting at the ramps this weekend and charging a couple of bucks per vehicle to back their trailers down the ramp. Charge double for jet fleas.
You could also video them trying it themselves and make money selling the vids to AMF.
I had a friend in college who would go to the ramps after a big holiday and take his scuba gear to pick up things dropped overboard. You would be surprised at what he would come up with.

Thought about that, get a sign, and\or a T-Shirt that offered to back trilers for $5.00 and see if there are any bites. The next guy in line would probably pay the fee for a large percentage of the people in front of him if he could. You would have to be there early AM just to get a parking place and a place to sit. At Tower Bay on Lewisville, they will be parking vehicles with trailers on both sides of the road leading to the park (1/2-3/4 mile from the ramp) so you just back it in, not offer to park for them.

Hey, know I do not know how to back a trailer I would pay the $5 if they backed when I launched and when I returned to take the boat out of the water.

Ramp Valet? I like it. The tips might be good. Only problem I see is when the people with the boats come back and want to load up. By that time, you could be long gone..

The real problem would be liability. What happens when the boat wasn't on the trailer right and you back it up and it falls off onto the ramp?
I thought about a guide/trailering/boat safety instructor thing. That might fly.

Actually backing a trailer and proper launching should be part of Texas Parks and Wildlife boater safety classes.
Just one more cast!

NO TRAILER BACKING BY PROS!!!! That will ruin the fun for those of us who place lawn chairs by the ramp on holidays and are entertained by stupid people trying to back them in. Especially 3 stupid people on a ramp with 3 lanes! Now, that's entertainment!

Who needs a valet backer, when you have a wife like mine....Our best time so far....68 seconds from the time the trailer tires hit the water until they came rolling back out with me and the boat scooped up and ready to go home. Launching takes a few seconds longer cause I gotta let that cold natured Yamaha warm a bit.

Yeah all of that is fun and nice to watch the idiots, but when you are one of those in line waiting to launch I would almost pay $5 to have the launch ramp clear. The good news is with me being a teacher, I don't have to fish on weekends anymore my summer is free. You'll see me out on the water from Tues through Thurs.

Man ,that is hilarious! I have been called a red neck all my life, but you cain't get any more red neck than taking your lawn chairs to the boat ramp to watch the idiots. I never thought of that! Good idea. Shoot that's what I call family entertainment! LOLOLOL!!!!!! George
I sure am glad I know how to back a trailer! My problem is backing up without one!

George, the key is to not get too close! Some of these stupid people could lose control and turn over my Dale Jr. ice chest and spill the liquid outta my Bubba Keg. We let the kids pick up broken tail light lenses and old sandwiches that are left behind. They seem to enjoy it. Our dog, Dog, likes to lick the mayo off the kids faces. This year, we're thinking about selling pork skins to those waitin' in line to launch.

Sounds good in concept, but in practice, what red-blooded American male is going to admit he needs somebody else to do his driving? Even when he's jack-knifed across 4 lanes, or the water is windshield-deep & climbing, he'll still say "that's okay, I got it."

Good one Jimbo.
It would take the fun away from those of us who go to watch all the amusement going on at the ramp during a holiday or weekend.
I teach and coach so I need the extra money, plus I'm off during the summer. Might give it a try.
