My fishing buddy and I are planning a trip to Falcon. Neither one of us have ever been there and we would like to know what time of year y'all would choose to go if you could only go one time? We live well over 1000 miles from there so we would like any and all suggestions!! We are planning this trip for 2013. Thanks in advance!!

IF I only had one shot to fish Falcon I'd probably be most worried about weather (wind). In that case I'd plan the trip for July or August where you don't have to worry about cold fronts. You do have to contend with brutal heat though. The heat is not bad if you get out at dawn and fish until 1 or 2 in the afternoon. Then you can get out in the evening too. The fishing in the summer can be some of the best of the year. Falcon bass do not seem to mind the heat.

The sooner the better, the lake is dropping like a rock. We are only 4 feet or so before we loose the state park ramp and have to start launching off of points. This will be the trend all over the lake pretty soon. Do your self a favor and fish it while you can...... The lake is dropping a foot every 5-6 days and is currently 33+ low?????

I agree, find 10lbs or bust.
