for those of you with a bird 997c-si which of these transducers you have on your transom ? on their web sight it shows both are for transom mount #1  By sixshooter001 at 2012-06-13 #2  By sixshooter001 at 2012-06-13

I did the tourney thing in Louisiana for several years and being there meant you were rough on equipment because of all the cypress knees plus the stumps you would normally have. I'd go with the metal definately based on my experience........and yes I have broken a transducer or two....

2, but I have it on my trolling motor, th first one is the non SI transucer. You want SI so 2 it is. And yes get a transducer shield and saver.
