Every fishery benefits from some level of harvest. Largemouth bass included. The best size for consumption tend to be fish less than 16 inches just remember that since mercury tends to show up in high end predators that when you consume a fish that is over 20 inches it may well be in excess of 10 years of age and has consumed a bunch of fish over the course of its life. Everything in moderation can be tolerated in the environment but some harvest is a good thing because it allows for diversification of the genetics and recruitment of a balanced ecosystem. By the same note a little positive peer pressure keeps folks from stripping all the fish out of an ecosystem too. It's kind of like pulling 150 crappie out of a 10 acre pond in 3 days. Extremes such as this take a long time for an ecosystem to recover from without significant modification by the resource manager.

Nice fish there, FFM... That's what we need in this thread... I would like to get you and Brad out on a peace fishing trip... Two excellent fishermen such as yourselves should make up an awesome experience... Either way, I hope/plan on fishing w/ you both in the near future... Increase the peace and let me know the next time either of you go fishing... I should be free and in dire need of a fishing experience... Fishing = my stress reliever and I def need some right about now... I believe in eating fish, but I respect limits and avoiding causing harm to the overall experience provided by a pond/lake. I may be forced to hit the Lewisville barge tonight. lol

By the way South Lakes Catfish Anglers my contacts with the state gave me an attaboy with the results of their last angler survey where they show up and take counts throughout the day for program justification. Reports like that keep my Denton pond high on the list for staying on the program. Thanks for participating it really helps me help you guys and gals.
Also a big North Texas Shout Out to all of you for your emails about the Parks Lakes. Keep em comming it will really help me with improving the quality of your fisheries.
Thanks
Jim

You don't understand, Brad and I are kinda friends, we have fished together before. He is entitled to eat da bass and I choose not to.
It's no big deal.

Heck I will go fishing with either one of you guys and if you bring the boat then gas and lunch is on me. I agree with both of you. Fish greater than 16 inch catch and release. Fish smaller than 16 inches but meeting minimum size regs catch and release........in 325 degree peanut oil. Unless its a catfish and all of it is skillet bound provided its not a bullhead.

Is this a fishing thread or a fish cooking show? Nice video FFM. I need to go slay some big girls with you some time. Those are some decent fish, especially the second video. Nice beef jerkey in the boat.

Well I just got back from XXXXX lake. I did pretty good I caught a bunch of eaten size bass and a few decent ones. They were where I thought they would be. That is the second or third time I have fished that place. Here is a few pics ... Dang I know this place too. You should crop out the back ground. The bass eaters will clean it out.
