Would you rather catch say a 13 to 15 pound fish and not be able to weigh it because your batteries died in your scale or just never catch the fish at all and not have to ever stress over it?

Having been in a situation similar (definately not 13-15, but possibly DD) I have a photo of the fish, but no idea on accurate weight and it drives me crazy! Its awesome to catch the fish, but not knowing its true weight will drive you up the wall lol

Silly choice.
Unless you're lucky enough to have several trophies under your belt (hope to be at that point one day...), I would imagine for most folks that would be the fish of a lifetime.
Of course I would immediately start telling everyone about the time I broke the state record but my batteries crapped out on me.

I have read three post now about being to cheap, get a scale, asking about weight drives me crazy, blah blah blah! Truth is who cares what other people do! Heck, I havent had a working scale in 2 years!! Not that I cant afford it, I make six figures!! I just dont care!! If I catch a fish close to the 10 lb mark, then trust me ill get it weighed! I have prolly fished 60+ tourneys in that time frame also!! I have a cull balance beam but thats it! Ive actually caught 5 Dd's in that time also, they got weighed! Fact is if people choose to fish without one for whatever reason WHO CARES!!!! Ive caught 5-10,000 bass in my life and im not going out of my way to put a 1- 9 lb bass on a scale, ive caught enough to get within half a pound by now! And with this topic I dont know who would rather not catch the fish because they didnt have a SCALE!!! Geez!!!

If your scales don't work you can use this formula.
LengthXLengthXGirth/1200=weight
It will get you close. But I would still be sick.

Get a Boga grip and don't worry about "batteries crapping out"
I for one cannot stand the "guess the weight" threads......they are ridiculous
But the answer to the question is catch it of course

Catch it... Always catch it..
You can still get several pics, and measure it all the way around. Plus, the thrill of catching it will stick with you for the rest of your life.
