what factors influence your decision to purchase from one online retailer to another?

Whats your idea of a perfect tackle shop? Abundant choices, or streamlined selections tailored to your favorite bodies of water?

What is more important, selection or service? Is it the fact that its in-stock, or able to be located?

free shipping is big for me, also selection is big obviously.. with as many different outlets you can access as far as styles of fishing down here targetting bodies of water will limit sales like mad IMO, but service whether its in a store or website always keeps me coming back even if i have to pay a couple extra bucks to take care of my fishing needs.. it never hurts to have a sale though wink

Tackle Warehouse gets about ninety percent of my business. They do a great job. The service is great; the selection is awesome; and they always have the new stuff. Sometimes it seems as though some stuff is out of stock for a long time, but that tends to be the more hard to get baits.

I think ease of using the web-site, because it doesn't matter if you have a big selection and great pricing if the web-site is a pain to navigate or not compatible with older browsers or has all kinds of flash and pop'up's, folks will go elsewhere...

pictures and pictures and more pictures. Don't just show me one color of a crank bait then give me a drop down box of 10 other choices to add to the cart. Show each color on the bait.

Yup. I like when they have uncommon color selections, especially on crankbaits and jigs. You can get sexy shad square-bills and black/blue jigs at every Walmart in the country. Having hard-to-find colors gives you a niche. But, that also means you need to have very high resolution photos and lift the skirts on the jigs so we can see if it has a trailer keeper or not!

Also think it's important to have email confirmation of orders with tracking information to make sure everything went through properly and you know what's going on.

A zoomed in shot of the plastics, etc.

And a lake favorites section helps...... Fork, Falcon, etc.

They have things that you can't find at basspro or cabelas. That way not every tom dick and harry is throwing what you are.
