That's good looking. Who's on your pro staff that field tests these?

I figured there wasn't a pro staff. But it's fun to dream!
Ripping that thing through the water, buzzing and frothing, that ought to bring them out of the woodwork.

Fine looking work! Let us know how it does on the water.

It did horrible today. It caused a lot of line twist and when stripped at all the whole thing would spin in the water. I would add lead wire to the hook bend but it already almost sinks. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I've seen people put a real tiny(like size 20) swivel about 12 inches up from the fly, like where you would usually tie your tippet to your leader. Might cause it to sink more though is the only problem. Keel weighting it would help too but it would definitely sink if you did that. hmmmm

Cool looking pattern though!

I've spent years trying to perfect a fly that acts like a tiny torpedo and have pretty much failed. But, I suggest a much smaller propeller or a much longer body. Also a longer shank hook will help; or a wire extending thru the body, connecting the hook to the line. At rest, the "fly" needs to sit at about a 45 degree angle; if it sits at more than 45 degrees the front will dip underwater before the prop is turned, thus making it twist. Also, eliminate the weed protection and make the head slightly larger than the tail. Also, try putting the prop on a 30 to 50 lb piece of mono, which will extend the body but will not add weight. (remember, I'm a failure so far making one)-p-

I have a drawer full of "almosts" and absolute failures; but I've made a few that showed promise; but none perfection. You can get the super small propellers at www.jannsnetcraft.com I am still searching for some small props made out of plastic of some sort; the plastic prop would make the fly possible; even easy-p-
