We are making a trip to East Texas this weekend. Need some pointers on what's REALLY good in either Tyler or Henderson. C'mon guys, help us out here.

Country Tavern outside Tyler. Great ribs. Actually beyond great.

Stanley's ribs are pretty amazing. The ceviche at Villa Montez is one of my favorites. Jucy's on Old Jacksonville has a great burger. Julian's on Broadway has a nice Chinese fusion menu...try the chicken lettuce wrap. And then I like to hit little cafes in small towns: The Deep South Coffee House in Teasleville (FM 346 & FM 344) makes a good breakfast. Thee Kafe in Arp has good home cookin'(Friday is rib-eye night). The super burrito at San Pedro's on 31 in Chandler (try the grilled veggies instead of rice & beans) is tasty, too. For a quick, cheap burger, The Blue Store on 155 in Flint is a bargain. You won't go hungry in East Texas!

If you have a chance, eat some ribs at Rib Masters in Whitehouse. They do a great job with barbeque. I would second Country Tavern outside of Kilgore, except I think they are a little overpriced.

I love the country tavern. It is pricey but it's worth it every once in a while.
