I live by Joe Pool, but I have not fished any where but near the boar ramp on the north side of the lake. But I think there are FAR to many people on the beachs around that area. Is there anywhere that is better for a Kayak to try? Cedar Hill Side or Mansfield side?

Cedar Hill state park is a decent place to put in. Best on a weekday.

Loyd Park. Creeks north and south, and trees opposite the swimming beach.

I usually go in Mondays. Less boat traffic. Put in at Lynn creek marina and paddle out to the bridge. Have had lots of success there. Usually catch something by trolling while I head to the bridge too. Going out on Monday the 18th with some friends who have never yak fished. Should be interesting! Cone on out! I think we'll be there by 10:30-11.

This is a gret yak launch point in Loyd Park and close to the creek where I have found some good fishing. Look at the launch point marked in red and don't pay attention to the low water this was several years ago.

There is also Britton park on the South end if you want to fish the lower creeks. Not a bad place to launch on a big wind day.

I may be in GR PR on Thursday. Call me Wednesday and let me know and I'll bring the yak.

Would you guys be interested in a free evening tournament from 6-9 or 9:30 on a week night? The winner would get a gift card to Mariner Sails and would be fishing for black bass.

Tournament at Joe pool? I could possibly make that if I could borrow my firends truck each time. Loading it on my car is not an option anymore. I have way to many bad scratches on the roof of my car now from loading/unloading. not to mention its an absolute pain in the rear.

Thanks a ton for the help folks. Its good to know there is decent water close. Really trying to get the wife used to kayaking and fishing at the same time. So a low traffic area is best. I would love to to the tourney but I work till 7:30 thur/friday

Do you have to pay to get into Lynn Creek during the week? Seems last year they were charging $10 a car.
What about Britton Pk... do they charge there?
