The following was in last Saturdays paper. I have been out many times and have not onlt not seen the bass, but not even a fisherman out! Anyone else out seeing these "i am sure litte guys".
Water Temperatures are in the middle 80s and continue to rise. Granbury water levels are dropping early in the summer season. Granbury sand bass are schooling some on the lower ends. Black bass reports continue to be fair to good on crankbaits and soft plastics.
Thanks

I write those reports and they come from other anglers on the water. You might talk to the Granbury bass club about the black bass fishing. The sandbass schooling report was from a friend fishing close to the power lines in striper alley.
Granbury fishing has been slow for sure since the last algae outbreak. I actually get out to catch bait several times during the week. I have been catching schools of small sandbass in the back of my house chasing bait. I live in the Shores.
I actually fished Granbury this last Sunday down by the dam with poor results. Managed to locate a huge school of fish near Blue Water Shores, unfortunately all I could catch was drum and catfish on slabs. Seen a few sandbass surface, but they did not school when i was there.
the problem now is that there is so much bait in the lake, you have to be on the fish when they get hungry to catch them. The predator numbers are way down, so fishing get tough.
Good Luck,

I will be on Grandbury pretty much all weekend, sponsoring water sport activities, I will try to do some fishing and drop a report Monday.

I went out on Granbury twice last week to see how the crappie was doing after the last algae outbreak. Crappie was slow and only 7" to 8". Then started catching channel-cat's. Decided to try trolling hell-pets for sand bass and was catching channel-cat's, LOL... O-well, had a good time on the lake anyway.

Ok Guys, here is what i Have from Granbury, meet Mike's neighbor at the ramp by the Dam, nice guy, we compaired notes. Both marked alot of fish, neither caught any of them, both noticed alot of shad in various size ranges, this was nice to see. But they only yeilded channel cats, and dinky ones at that.I wasnt able to find any surfacing fish morning or afternoon but did not go any further up the lake than Striper Alley. I hope the Sandies start up later this summer, it always seams to be later on Granbury than any where else, so i still hold hope for some good fishing close to home.
Catch and release into the grease!
