Pick up a few this morning in texarkana. I never have owned one but see so many post about how good they are couldnt help it when I seen them own sell.

Guess I hate to say this bc they will be sold out! Academy should be selling this reel for 100+! 10 bearings... Small frame... Tough... Good drag system! I could care less on ratio but it's only in 6.3:1! I'm disciplined enough to slow crank! But these reels can not be beat for a low cost reel!! I have 8 and I'm going to buy 3 more! That is if there's any left

Academy also has their All-Star rods on sale for $29 (at least the Longview store). I have 3 setups with the Mettle reel and All-Star rod (cranking, worm, and 7' C-rig). It is hard to find a better setup for under $100. Even harder to find a better setup for the $60 you can get the rod and reel for at the current sales price.
