It would seem like the micro guide eyes would make casting a heck of a lot more accurate but at the same time shorten the casting distance. I have a Bass Pro shops Carbon Lite that has them and where ever you want that worm to go that's where it is going to land. But it doesn't cast as far as other rods I have with normal guides on them. Is this just me or is what I'm thinking correct?

You are just end up more confused than before you asked....just sayin'
I personally don't use them.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.

Wow dude this is the second time u have complained this week over good products! I get an extra 15-30ft on cast and I'm accurate! Plus... The rattlesnakes are golden! There is less friction from line coil(memory) which in return allows line to travel easier through the eyes! Understandable its all user comfort but I would not trade my duckets and carbonlites for a $500 dollar rod! Sensativity is rarely matched!

Everyone says you can get more distance out of them. I just don't see the physics behind it. Accuracy I can see.

This is my experience. I believe you get a little more distance with a hard cast. Not over 5 yds. with heavy baits and less than that with light baits. What I see is the same distance cast with much less effort, more so with lighter baits.

I can tell you that they cast further with less effort.

As I understand it, the theory behind the micro guides is to create less line slap against the guides as the line passes through them. Meaning that the larger diameter guides allow for a larger or wider looping of the line as it comes off of the spool and goes out through the guides. This wider looping of the line creates more resistance/drag going through the guides which decreases distance. Whatever it is I do know it works, I have about a dozen micro rods and I love them, especially with the lighter baits.

You will get more distance with them....however you have to keep your line fresh or straightened out. If you aren't getting the distance the. Your line has too much memory. Tie it to a tree or truck hitch, unspool the reel by walking the other direction and then grab it and put a good stretch on it.

You get better line control with the micros less line slap on the blank
