Me and a few buddies are planning on going down to Amistad July 4-8 and I was wanting to start stocking up on lures. Its my first time going down there and have been trying to figure out what to throw and how deep. I wanted to ask some of you guys who fish regularly what you'd recommend for the hot summer months.

Thanks in advance.

By July I imagine the best patterns will be deeper, 15 foot and deeper. Like already said, cranks, c-rigs, football jigs, etc. will all probably work.

wm red in all you can get it in. crankbaits and stick baits early then fb jigs, fb jigs, then follow those with fb jigs.
or skip the others early and go with fb jigs. target rocky points and drops which tend to be easy to find there. best of luck
