The ear plugs I was throwing away at work works great if you put it about 4 to 6 inches above your hook , when fishing the bottom it will keep the bait off the bottom making it eaiser for the fish to pick up. Works great for me ! Hope this helps you land more Cats , let me know if it helps you on your next trip ! ( try not to overload with bait or it will still sink , I test it to make sure it lifts the bait 1st )

Sounds like a version of the santee cooper with earplugs.

Sounds like an interesting tactic. I usually fish with a carolina type rig since I'm always face in to the wind and a float just comes running right back to me after two minutes.

Now that's recycling! I use slip floats and those can add up. Since I fish in the creeks/rivers often I am always looking out for bobbers along the shore line someone lost in a tree or what not. Just make sure it's still not attached to someone's pole they get upset for some reason LOL!

They have bullet heads that float like bass fisherman use. Used them for years but old ear plugs sound good too. Sounds good rolfmao

Do they work better with ear wax or without?
