Folks I have never seen so much bait fish on Lake Fork that I'm seeing now.Every where all over the lake, top bottom you name it.I believe thats why the catchin has been slower lately, too much real food everywhere.I remeber the shad kill 2 years ago in Feb.it killed mass quanities of thread fin shad, and the catchin was awesome that year. The bass should be about to pop now with the bait like it is now. It's just hard to compete with the real thing! That's what a drawdown, followed by lush shoreline vegetation growth and rising waters of late will get you ![thumb thumb](/forums/images/graemlins/default/cup.gif)

No kidding , last week saw tons of shad fry also.

I beleive you are correct. Was there this past Sat and my electronics were lit up with balls of bait but didn't exactly wear out the bass. Some small ones and a slot, plus some magnum size sand bass (14"+). But the ones I did catch sure were plump.

Tony, you nailed it, the shad spawn lasted for ever, not sure its over yet. Fork is a compleaty different lake now. What worked today don't mean it will work tommoro. The slots are fat and strong.
