Like I said, I wish Al Gore had never invented (created) the internet. Since the creation of the internet everyone has gotten smarter, wealthier, more athletic, better looking and definitely tougher. Not to mention, never has there been more professional fishermen and sponsored individuals.

This it has ruined tournament fishing now it's all about GPS numbers and info gathering on spots and lures. Can't stand when someone asks for info without full disclosure they are fishing a tournament on the lake they ask about. I have also noticed they never return the favor. I don't mind giving info to those just learning and those that fish for fun.

Overall, I think it has hurt the fishing. But it's been great for guides, lodges, marinas, etc on the better lakes.

Bad. Call your local ISP and tell them you want your internet disconnected.

Ruined a lot of lakes...I agree. There are no secrets anymore. No more finding a creek by bumping stumps for 5 hours to find it. Now you google map it and your in within minutes. So much has changed in just 10 years!! I can't imagine another 10....or have we found and done it all now that we can? Who knows? Only the computer geeks know.

Fun to pass the time at work...BINGO! You got that right!

I hope it's a good thing! My brother and I just started www.myfishingfriends.com, a nationwide social site for fishermen and a customer reviewable section to promote guides (kind of like a fishing Travelocity or Angie's list).

Information is always good. As much as its improved fishermen it also helps give information that can improve conservation.

I've yet to have seen anyone throwing their laptop w/a couple of trebles hooked to it... so I'm not sure the internet actually helps catch fish..
As a tool to gather information, it helps tremendously. As a social means to sit and shoot the bull about fishing, it excels. That Al Gore guy was some kinda smart!

The TFF and tournament results are the worst thing that could have ever happened to a small lake like lake Tyler. The other day there was somebody on here bragging about Athens being on fire. The next weekend they were complaining about the lake being crowded and no fish biting. HELLOOOOOOOO

Internet hurts fishing? Esh, I don't mean to sound young but I can't imagine how it hurts fishing, maybe hurting egos. I think net has done more in 10 years for fishing than the last 100. For every 1 greedy guy losing HIS spot, it inspires 1000 more. More fishermen on your lakes mean more dollars that go into those lakes and the local economy. Alan Henry barely had humane facilities to use and now it finally is a place you can bring your kids and teach them to fish. I also have met many great fishermen that share my passion and hobby that I would not have without it. Everything comes at a cost and if catching a few less fish is the cost then I will pay it.
