Being as I've broke my two previous flipping sticks I'd like to try a new one. Considering the TFO 7 6 heavy action rod from BPS. Anyone have pros or cons about these. Friend of mine has a 7 MH and loves it. Seems to be a great deal at $99. Also considered an Allstar rod, possibly the AST. I'm trying to stay under 180. There's a possibility I'll go for a duckett.. Some one convince me to stay cheap..LOL

I've only held one in-store, but they felt an action lighter than described on the rod...if your looking for a flippin stick, id keep my options open for something with a little more backbone.. TONS of good rods out there within 30 dollars of the tfo

Buddy of mine got one, the 7'6" flipping stick. It broke on his first fish. He took it back to the tackle shop (Tri Lakes in Lufkin) and they refused to give him his money back, they would only give him another rod identical to the one that broke. After my bud found out he was not going to win in getting his money back (he like me does not trust stuff that breaks) he said OK, but then they said well we have to order one. The new one came in and my buddy picked it up. He took it home to put a reel on it and found the reel seat to be stripped out so he goes back to tri lakes and they will STILL not give him his money back. As of right now he still has no new rod nor any money back and this was three weeks ago.

Bottom line DO NOT BUY TFO and DO NOT GO TO TRI LAKES TACKLE IN LUFKIN

Id be careful, I've seen more than 1 occasion on the TFF where lawsuits were threatened for less. Business owners like that don't like when tales of their "customer" service get out on the net.. just a word of caution thumb

I have never had any problems with TriLakes. Maybe I have been lucky, but they have always been pretty easy to deal with and helpful. Never bought a TFO rod there, though.

I bought a signature series 7ft heavy for mainly a carolina rig but it will work good for a frog, a-rig, t-rig and any jig. I really like it and would definitely look at getting another one. Good rod for a good price.

I picked up a TFO 7'3" Heavy at the Legend tourney a few weeks back for 50 bucks and abused it at Falcon for 8 days last week. Held up to everything I could do to it. I have nothing but Dobyns rods otherwise and really do like that TFO for flipping with 25lb fluoro. Worked well with my football jigs as well. Thumbs up IMHO

Just a little heavy but a nice rod for $99 bucks. Wish they didn't have those ugly eyelets though.

Thanks for the heads up, but everything I said was 100% truthful. I will say this, tri lakes has always been more than willing to help when it comes to buying stuff, it is only their return policy or lack thereof that makes me not want to shop there.
I am also sure that it was just a good run of bad luck that my buddy had two bad rods in a row, but thats enough for me not to want one.

Thanks, Randall! We had a lot of fun down there mixed in with some true heartbreaks, but it was worth it all! Hope to fish with you again soon!

I have a 7'0" MH TFO spinning rod that I bought about 4 months ago. It is a tad on the heavy side, but has good sensativity, is comfortable in my hand, and has plenty of backbone. I have been using this rod for shakeyheads in heavy cover with 30lb braid and 20 lb flouro leader. I have given a it quite a bit of stress and I have no complaints so far.

Set the hook first, ask questions later!!!
