is the denison dam op[en 24 hrs for fishing or is it locked up at a certain time,which side is best for catfishing.can i use my throw net there to catch bait.

I'm going to be camping at Texoma June 10-16. I've always wanted to try the dam. Any pointers for a first timer. What should I throw/ Topwater, sassy shads,live bait ??? Should I only fish while they are genereting or is it a waste of time to fish when they are not generating?

You can still catch fish with no generation. Minnows or cut bait are your best bet since you are new to that river. Go down the river, find a deep water area, use a small float and 3' or 4' leader. The best way to learn is to watch how others catch fish around you. Good luck. I'm going to be camping at Texoma June 10-16. I've always wanted to try the dam. Any pointers for a first timer. how far down river do you have to go to find deep water,where is the best place to park .

There are at least 3 of them along 1500' shore line. You don't have to walk far. There are parking lots along the shore line. Just part your car on top the spot where you want to fish, and walk down.

Fished Denison Dam today. Two of us managed to limit out on Striped Bass. No Bruisers, mainly catching and releasing them, and then keeping the one's that were deep hooked. Today's Video.

If you have a oklahoma license where can you fish? And if I'm hellbent on catching big ones and dinks will do, is fishing there regardless of generation going to be good?

WOW ........... DD is still hitting. I missed fishing at DD.
Wilson ......... Are you going to put together a DUNK FEST this year or I already miss it?
Still in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. My wife's uncle want me to come over to see this property he bought with big body of water and he want to know if there are any decent fish still left in the pool of water.
I told him to drain out the water like everywhere else in Cambodia and fill it back up once you know what in there ....lol .... He doesn't like that idea too much and he bought tickets for the family and forces me to come ....... grrrrrrrrrrr ..... Freaking people in Phnom Penh drive crazy ...... Enjoy the time so far ...... Will post pictures of the pool water and pictures of fishes in there if any left .......
Moon - Save me a few fish at DD ....... Can't wait to get back to state.

You can catch dinks there all day long, with or without generation. Few big ones caught this year. The biggest one that I knew was a 12#. A friend told me that he caught one 30" hybrid at Benbrook dam. Does any one know that area? WOW ........... DD is still hitting. I missed fishing at DD.
