my favorite reel is my Daiwa Zillion Type R with 6.3:1 gears.
I paid like 460 for it all told.

My favorites are Daiwa Zillions.It was around $250 6 or seven years ago.No problems what so ever. I just bought an Ardent Edge Tour edition.Ardent has replaced it twice so-far in three weeks due to problems right out of the box. Still haven't got to to fish with it.
God gave me 2 ears and 1 mouth so I listen twice as much as I talk

I own 2 quantum smokes and love them.
I own a BPS carbonlite (the new ones not the orange ones) and I love it.
I own a lews tournament mg and it feels great but still need to get it dialed/broken in (had it out one trip).
I own a shimano citica and I like it pretty good, but it's far from bullet proof...even after an extensive cleaning and upgrading the bearings, it doesn't hold a candle to the other reels mentioned.
All that being said, the Smokes are by far my favorite.

Used to be curados and still like the ones I have but now my favorites are my Lews by far.

I've inadvertently collected more curado E series than I had planned, and they seem to perform the best.

What reels do you like best and how much do they cost? I have one REVO love it but kinda pricey. I would like some ideas on reels for long casting.
Any ideas???
Bob If you really want long casts get a surf rod.. Abu Garcia Black Max $75 and IMO works as good as these "pro" fishin reels.. I've had mine for 3+ years and it still works like new, no replacing, fisxing, cleaning nothing and it still works great..of course it's beat up and not all shiny like it was new, but that thing will not let you down..
You don't always need a boat..
But gosh darn it, sure helps!

Garcia man! I love ABU myself. Have several old ones but love my REVO's. I am looking at trying out one of the ORRA's since they are on sale for a bill.

H2O Mettle $50 great reel for the money. Revo better but not $100+ better. IMO..
