Tungsten will let you feel a lot more on the bottom, but way to expensive for c rigging. Only time I use mine is flipping grass or timber with braid, I can at least drag the tree in to the boat to get my weight back.LOL. the Carolina keepers are worth a damn using weights over 1/2 ounce. Stick with old faithful and you will have more fun and less frustrations.

No Carolina rigs are meant to be fished weightless.

The brass clacker between weight and bead works great

Congrats on the DD!!!
I leasrned the hard way about the carolina keepers, now I use lead or brass with swivel but never crushed a bead... Whats the problem with Carolina Keepers? I have used them recently, mainly because I marshaled Todd Faircloth and he used them...

The brass clacker between weight and bead works great I use a brass clacker between a bead and the knot. The clacker is concave on the knot side to help protect the knot. Above the clacker is a bead then the lead egg weight. Seems to work fine.

Meh, one of the very few instances I still use lead is on a rig, don't have many problems.
