5" can split map and sonar/DI but forget SI split. Get a Ram mount and add a bigger screen if you want to use SI.

IMO no it isn't to small the SI split screen runs on the bottom half of the screen and I don't have any issues with seeing everything I'm looking for. Is bigger better maybe but my 798 works just fine for me. Agree. I run the same unit and I have no problems. If I'm using the gps while running I use the whole screen, but use split screens when I'm not and have no problems. Would the 10" be better? I'm sure, but the 5" works just fine.

I've gotta 5 on the bow and it's fine for a depth finder but that's about it - I will soon add a 8 or 10 inch beside it and use the 5 for bottom sonar and the 8 or 10 for GPR and side view

Way to small even the 7 is hard to see for 55 year old eyes.

If you have the extra cash burning a hole in your pocket go for the larger screen but the 798 works fine for me.
Stress less, relax more. Go fishing.
