Hey fellas...I am thinking about booking a guided trip for my dad and I on Fork for some summertime fun. I know there are a lot of great guys working Fork and I'm sure I would have a blast with any of them. My dad is a novice bass fisherman and has never fished deep water or summer patterns. I am looking for a guide that would be willing to do a lot of teaching and explanation through the course of the day without getting frustrated, etc. Any of you guys had similar requests or experiences. As always, thanks for your help.

The first guy to come to mind is Rick Carter. Great guide and very personable.

Mark Pack, Brian Duplachine or James Caldemeyer can't get much better.

I highly recommend Justin Rackley. He is a super nice guy, is willing to teach all day, and is pleasent to fish with. He even has a YouTube channel that he does tutorial videos all the time. You can check em out Lakeforkguy.

I don't think you would go wrong with any of the guides mentioned. I fished with Rick Loomis twice both for electronics instruction. We did a lot more instruction than fishing and I couldn't have been more pleased. There is no telling how many fish I have caught because of those trips. He might be another one you consider.

A guide that is not patient with paying customers should not be guiding, IMO.

My dad and I went with FLW pro Tom Redington. He's the best. He's very down to earth, personable, nice, knowledgable and an all around great guy. If you go with him you'll definitely catch big fish, I caught my PB with him guiding us. (9.1) I HIGHLY recommend him!

Down to earth, good teacher, excellent fisherman, really, really nice boat.

I agree on Jason Hoffman. Spent a tough Memorial Day on Fork with Hoffman and he taught us a lot about deep water fishing. I too had a novice in the boat-never caught a bass on a jig and nothing over 6lbs and he ended up doing both on that trip. In addition to learning more about deep water bassin, JH also showed us quite a bit on how to read your electronics. Probably can't go wrong with any of the guides mentioned but I will second JH.

I will recommend Stephen Fatheree, I have fished with him a number of times and he always takes the times to answer all my questions!

Jason Hoffman gets my vote. He's keen when it comes to summertime deep water bassin.....
