Now we all know we do pm (preventive maintenance) on our cars and boats, another add to it should be check your fluid in your hydrolics if you have a power pole. Dont let what happened to me yesterday happen to you, I ran out of fluid from a leak in a line, at 70mph on cedar creek yesterday, my pole dropped. You can well imagine what it looks like right now, will definatly wake you up lol. Thankful no one was hurt, but guys, start checking your reservours, it should never change in how full it is, if it does, start finding the prob. Just an FYI for everyone

Yep. I'll bet that was pucker time. I almost got in trouble when I put mine down and almost couldn't get it to go back up because of low fluid.

pucker aint quite the word, probably gonna have to get a new seat after that, not sure I can get it to streach back out and get the point out of it lol. Never though about checking it before this, but for sure on my pm list now

Seems like you could use a strap similar to a troll motor strap maybe two to wrp the poles when you load the boat in case something happens and you dont realize the fluid goes bye bye. Would, could a strap hold it up?

for sure a strap would hold it, but not like you think, i had to tie it up from the pp to my rear seat after I finally got it up, and the pole itself, was sticking 90 degrees toward the back. they make a tie off on the new ones, but your in a world of hurt if you forget to undo it before you need to use it. gonna try to get some pics tomorrow and post them. Made this post just FYI so no one else ever has to go thru this for sure, if it had been shallower water, I may have had a real problem.
