I got what appears to be a pretty ancient fish finder with my newly acquired boat. Its a Humminbird LCR 4000. It has 2 cables on that plug in the back - one for the transducer (mounted on the trolling motor) and the other is a 2 prong for power. I have 12v at the power cable but no power up on the unit.
Is this thing toast? or is there an internal fuse to check? I would like to use if possible.

The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch them without doing anything. Remember what He has done and remember that He is not done yet!-- GOD IS GOOD

The pins (male connectors) on mine had become compressed after years of use. They were slotted and normally I just slide a knife or whatever in the slot to expand the connectors again. The male connectors are so fragile on these units that I was afraid to do that, so I fixed mine by sliding a narrow piece of aluminum foil into each terminal of the female socket. That tightened the connections and restored power to the unit.

I tried this on mine and worked! Thanks. Dang - didnt realize how old this Fish Finder is. Huge pixels!!! It'll work for now though. Thanks for the tip....its awesome to have such a wealth of knowledge to pull from on this board.
