Managed to boat an even 10 lb over on a deep crankbait. Caught around 16 fish total. Date on camera was wrong.

Your day is a long way from slow. Lately, I could write a book on slow days. Congrats.

it just seemed like a slow day because we never got a bite after 7 am (except the big one) They bit like crazy early in the morning on topwater and then just shut off.
Top 3: 10.08 (Fork) 9.33 (Fork) 9.26 (Millwood Lake, AR)

here's my june 2nd fishing day on fork, had several fish come up on top water none of which hooked up, even threw shallow cranks and chatterbaits and nothing. give up on shallow with fish chasing bait and breaking the surface fairly regular around me. try to go fish a road bed and it's stacked with boats so move to a pond dam and see a huge school on graph. spend about an hour with everything from drop-shot to c-rig to deep cranks, nada. check a few more deep spots and nothing. swing by a pocket close to the ramp i was at and only one boat in there so i go in and second cast the line just feels heavy so i set hook and i have never felt anything this strong, i couldn't even think about turning it and i had my heavy stick with big line and drag cinched down. the fish swims into trees wraps me and breaks 25 lb flouro after being tied up for a while. sounded like a gun shot when it broke. line was frayed and damaged about five feet up it, so i guess she just sawed me off down in that junk. after that the area started filling up with boats so i said to heck with it and went to lick my wounds. wanna trade days?

That's the thing about Fork. One cast can change your whole day!! Nice fish. This is what I was kind of trying to say, wasn't tryin' to belittle anyone. I had two bites after 7 am and this fish was one of them, the other fish came off. Everything we caught before 7 am was nothing to really to brag about, they were very small unders and we fished from 6 am until 6 pm. I guess what I should have said was the old cliche, "Never give up, you never know what the next cast could be."
