If you have not loaded the Navionics Freshest Data of late (free service on newer cards), do so. I just updated and what a difference on a couple of lakes - Ray Roberts and Lake Fork!!!

First, the chart was purchased second hand so there is no warranty. As I sent you in a pm, you might make sure that your unit has the latest software update from Humminbird. There have been some issues in some of the versions. I would be more than happy to look at your chart, where are you located? One other step is maybe try it in another Humminbird unit. If it works in that unit it is not the chart.
I assure you our customer service is top notch and not "chicken [censored]".
Gambler- not sure wjhat your question is. Please send me a pm and I will see what I can do to answer it.

Suggestion for navionics that maybe Navguy could pass on, When downloading freshest data let the user pick the lakes they want new data for. Downloading of the whole chart can literally take hours when all you need is the lastest data for one lake. The Maps are great and work really well.

IMO the insight has better data than the Navionics for Lake Fork. I like the additional depth contours but other than that the insight seems more accurate. I had the new platinum and it was updated regularly but find I use the insight more often on Fork. I have an older Navionics chip(premium) I use up front that has more/accurate data than the newer platinum chip.

The downloading of freshest data on a nav. card can be a real pain. I installed the software for both the web store and pc app when I bought my card in december, I went to update my card three days ago and still havn't got it done. First you need the newest version of the web store app, That navioncs has changed twice since monday, once you finnaly get the latest version you get freshest data that took from 2:00 to 9:30 last night to download. That's fine, I guess it is on my card, that part is not real clear becuase once this was done I had to download the newest version of the pc app. When i got this done it started, downloading the freshest data to my computer so I could view it on the pc app, It had downloaded 1% in 22 min. I'm still not sure if the freshest data is on my card or if it will only be on my computer. This being said I am not the most computer savy person in the world, maybe this is simpler for those that are. Long story short the maps are great, with plenty of detail for the two lakes I Fish, but don't buy navionics just for the freshest data pitch, you'd be better off to spend that computer time on the water.

I have updated my card via Freshest Data several times and while it does take time, it has been about an hour on my laptop & internet. The greatness about Freshest Data is the addition of lakes, the addition of contour lines, creek and road bed data.

You need a better computer and a faster connection. I have a HP with a i5-2400 processor and 6G ram. I have Verizon FiOS Internet 35/35. Takes me about 20 minutes or so to download my chart updates, then another 20 for the PC app updates, so for me it's well worth it. If you have an old PC with dial up, you might as well buy a new chart every time you want to update. And since my chart was eligible, I just bought the freshest date update for my chart for $74.50 instead of paying $149 to get a new PREM-S6 chart. THANKS Navionics for giving me that choice!!!

Got a question for Navguy though. My Humminbird 788ci didn't show the community layer after I downloaded the latest update to my chart. Do you know if that model just doesn't support it or do I need to change a setting to make it display?

I have the latest Platinum card and have the PC APP...here's my question? From reading the earlier post, how can you delete lakes you don't want or need? I have the Lakes South and have no need for lakes east of Louisiana, and can do without Arkansa, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.

Which one would be best for a hummingbird 788c? I have a great hot maps chip to trade or sale and I took it out of a Lowrance HDS 5 Check out the Lake Master chips for your Humminbird. They are the BOMB for 'Birds.

Found the answer to my question on the Navionics website. "Freshest Data includes a revolution in digital charts: the Community Layer, hundreds of thousands of edits made by Navionics users, viewable on mobile, PC App and select chart plotters (Raymarine e/c-Series, Lowrance HDS Gen2 / Gen1 with 4.1 update)." No Humminbird chart community layer.
