Call these guys. Best source of knowledge about what is biting in Brushy and what they're biting on. Living Waters Fly Shop
I've had loads of success using a small black and green popper, and a little less with a larger yellow one. The sunfish go mad for a size 14 green copper john, but I've only got a couple Rio Grande's on them.

Thanks. Just moved down here last year, and I'm become addicted to warm-water fly fishing. I'm going to start tying again as soon as I find a good/cheap vise, so I'll report back what's working when I start tying different stuff.

Don't know. I might buy the portable vise and set of tools from Cabela's that retails around $50 and upgrade after re-learning the art.
