Went out this evening to do some fine tuning to my 788ci. Turned the unit on and the unit wouldn't load. The loading just kept flashing. Tried to power it down and it wouldn't let me. Had to disconnect it from power to turn it off. Tried to power it up several times and got the same results.
Keep on fishing.

Take all the maps cards or SD Cards out and test. IF not sounds like you need to call HB Customer Service 800-633-1468

I didn't have any SD or map cards in the unit when I powered it up. I installed it again Saturday morning and it worked fine until I got into the menu and selected the US2 option for the transducer. It then shutdown. Tried powering it up again and it flashed between the Loading and the Humminbird screen. Disconnected it from the power supply and let it set for awhile. Powered it up and it worked fine again. Glad I had my 383ci as a backup on the boat. Never have had an issue with that unit. BTW! the Weathersense worked great on my 898. Thanks for the info you gave me previously.

It was designed to assist with interference on the Side Imaging units.

Interference update on my 597. Last week I received my new power cord from Hummingbird. After installing it there was no change. I have sent it back to Hummingbird for them to check it out. When it comes back I will install it and if no improvement I will go to the ground wire. Found this video might be the simple way. Will update later. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8p8NJ0LvNpo&feature=plcp

I got one....
My 798ci is having issues when i crank the engine over? I am assuming this is a voltage issue and my battery may need to be replaced. The screen either goes completely white, or is has several colors of vertical lines. It basically freezes up until i take it off the base to disrupt power from it.
All power wires are soldered FYI. Any advice?

Are they hooked direct to the battery? Sounds like low current to the unit is causing it to not operate properly.

they are wired to a heavy gauge wire in my console. I could try to run a new direct wire and see where I get. thanks

Hook direct to the battery that is recommend with a 3 Amp Blade Style Fuse. IF your boat wiring is not heavy enough gauge it can restrict current flow.

having a problem with a 997c si ,I purchased a pre-owned unit from a member here and a new transducer from another installed the unit ,went out on the water and the si worked fine for about 3 min then the right side went black ,I don't have anything in the way of the transducer , all settings are correct , when I put it in simulation mode both left and right work fine ,,,,,so is the problem the transducer?

IT could be either in the transducer or headunit. Simulator is just computer program running in the unit with sonar data.
I would recommend cross testing on another SI Transducer. ANd test their headunit on your transducer. This will tell which is the source of the concern.
