Worked like a champ. Thanks Doug. Got the new Humminbird 788ci Combo today. Mounted up easily since everything matches from my 383c. Powered up with no problem. Did change the mount out just because it is new. Worked like a champ. Got to field test it tomorrow on the lake. (Note to self, get a new sd card to record the everything I fish.)
Keep on fishing.

OK, here's the deal. Got on the lake with the new 788. Pressed the mark button to mark my 1st waypoint without any issues. Went to mark the second one and the unit shut down. Tried it 4 different times. It shutdown all 4 times. What's up with that?
Keep on fishing.

I am a step behind most of you but am catching up. I just I stalled my 597 DI combo today. I am stoked to be able to have this on my boat. My question is how to save an image to it if I have a navionics map card in? Or can I? Do I have to have an SD card with me and pull the navionics out to save an image?

Yes, Since the 597 DI only has one card reader you need to remove the map card and insert a blank card to save screen captures.

Question on where to start. HB 596 on the MK terrova is catching interference. It's vertical lines when the TM is operating, and the depth starts bouncing out some really deep numbers. TM off, everything is ok
Help please

First I must say that Humminbird service is great. I sent my unit off last Thursday and got it back today. I sent it off because DI and SI worked great in shallow water but would begin to fade as I moved into deeper water and was completely unusable in 25+ feet. HB said that they checked the unit out and found nothing wrong with the unit. They shipped it back and included a brand new HD transducer stating that if the unit was good then they suspected the transducer was probably at fault. I will put the transducer on tomorrow and give it a shot this weekend looking for some fat sandies. Just thought someone else may have had this problem and this post might help. If I had not sent it in to HB, I would not been able to figure out which was bad and certainly would not have gotten a new transducer so quick. CrappiePoppie (Gary)

Probably out of my league here but I am going to guess that the trolling motor is analog instead of digital and that is causing the interference
Hope this helps
