I pull by boat home and the lake I fished was Old Saline Lake. I don't think they have boat rental, at least from what I know, but that lake and Black Lake are my favorite for bream fishing.

I heard stories about those 2 lakes and some other LA lakes back when I was a kid. The old timers looked back fondly on those lakes. They'd get a far off look everytime they talked about catching bream back then in those lakes. Glad to see they are still producing some big 'ole sunfish!

Takes me back to my childhood. Most of my family is from Winnfield La and we still have a camp house on Saline. I have not fished there in years. Lots o bream, bass and white perch. My most vivid memories are of running yo yo's in the dead of winter at night for white perch. Pitch dark just waiting for the sound of a crappie splashing and dangling from a tree limb. Turn on the old sportsman latern and paddle over and pluck him off the line "did not have trolling motors". My uncles were artist at sculling a boat paddle all day long.

Skilletshot, I remember doing the same thing with my grandfather. I grew up in Jonesboro and we fished just about every body of water around.
