ramps depending on where u want to fish.
laws, standard texas boating laws.
regs, same as all texas regs for boating.
best to get a gps and a map.
good ramps on 61st street, nice ride out to the west bay.
what kind of boat.
just remember, everything has to been really rinsed with freshwater, when your done.

Rip if you want to fish the jetties i would suggest you ride the ferry to Bolivar and launch from there. I can't remember the name of the ramp but is where the shrimp boats are. You can get ice at a good price plus they have bait and dinner shrimp for sale.
From the ramp you only have 1/2 to 3/4 miles to travel to get to the bay hang a left and fish the jetty of your choice.
Good luck to you.

Just be careful can get dangerous real quick at the jetties. Ships wake, tide pulling you into the rocks etc.

Rip,
Since you have a smaller boat, I would recommend taking the ramp at Galveston Yacht Basin or possibly Texas City. Texas City would be much shorter drive by truck. Make sure you have at least two anchors or your day could end early. Pay attention to current and tide because once you anchor, you're not set for the whole day. Wear your life jacket anytime you're running.

Ok finally got a trip planned for may 24th thru 27th and more advice Is much appreciated. I understand the tide some what but not fully I probably will use the ramp at port bolivar unless someone has a better idea . This is my first time to launch my boat so if there is something extra I will need different from fishing my local lake let me know also the first rigs are not really far out? Is it possible on calm seas to fish them ? Thanks for the help

If your going out to the rigs, i wouldnt want to use standard bass gear. you could catch anything out there, ling, cobia, amberjack, grouper, etc.It will ruin a small bass reel.

Here is some advise. Come pick up the 2nd Humminbird unit you ordered from me. Or at least reply to the v/mails, text msg or PM' and let me know something. You did me the same way on the first order.....and never picked it up.
