I guess I can't see the forest because of all the dang trees. Can somebody explain how you change the consevation pool level. I've got a club tournament on LOP June 9th and 10th and was curious about the lake level as compared to this time last year. One website shows 1.71 feet low with full pool being 228.5 feet. The other website shows 2.99 feet low, but for some reason I don't understand they changed the full pool on 05/21 from 228.5 to 230. How can this change? I know at times I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but I don't understand. Can a sharper knife please explain this?

Some COE lakes change the level during the summer for numerous reasons. 228.5 is the normal summertime level or has been in the past ever since I have fished it but that could have changed. Check with the COE office at the lake to find out the true scoop.

I thought 230 was summer pool and 228 was winter pool.

LOP has been dropping since mid-April with a increase stated in mid-May.

When Pines was built it was for flood control and not Recreation use. They do not car about us fisherman or swimmers. Remember it is controlled by the GOVERNMENT and they have NO IDEA how to do it. They may anticipate a flood or drought and try to keep level to accommodate this. I think there are 3 -4 towns getting water from Pines and Longview can suck it down quick.
