Learning how to Bass fish is not as easy as they make it look on youtube. Any suggestions for a begginer?

I don't have any suggestions for AH, can't bring myself to pay 30 bucks a night to stay in a tent! but for someone that's fairly new to the sport I would say read and watch everything you can find on the net and spend as much time as you can on the water and if you have any specific questions ask them here, there are a lot of people willing to share their experiences. Most important of all is to have fun and enjoy yourself!!

AH is a tough lake to learn on. Fish can be on a pattern one second and totally shut down the next. There are some big fish to be caught and there are lots of Spotted Bass that will tug your line if you figure the lake out a little.

As Mind said, do a lot of research. Read a lot, watch videos, ask lots of specific questions, and spend a lot of time on the water. Make sure you are noting and analyzing what happens when you fish. Why was a fish where it was, what structure was it next to, what cover was it in or next to, what was the water temp, how were you working the bait, what were you using, what was the depth, water clarity, etc. Eventually you will figure out some patterns in those things.

If you want to save some time in the learning process, you can hire a guide to teach techniques, and finding fish out there, etc. I guide some on the lake and know it like the back of my hand. There are also a couple guides that are full time. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions about the lake or would like a trip.

Senkos, Drop Shot, very light t-rig. I believe it is a great lake to learn the drop shot on.

When you get your boat in the water head west and fish the rocks 10-20' with a drop shot off the rocks on the north side. Oh yeah, you have to use Zipper baits(green Pumpkin) or you won't catch anything...just sayin'

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can; and wisdom to know when to go fishing.
