Which card do you use? I need the south zone. I see one of them cost $149.00 and one is $199.00 ( platinum ) What are the differences? I have read what it says on their site, but would like to hear what you guys that use them have to say.
Thanks

The only difference I know of is the platinum has 3d images of the lakes. Not much of a need to me so I saved $50 and went with a premium.

Platinum also offers the satellite top down aerail photos plus the 3d ability. It also depends on the unit you have. Platinum will only work on Lowrance HDS units and Humminbird 800, 900 and 1100 series units.

I have the new HDS-10 gen 2 with LSS 2 and insight. The graphics are great on it but I would like to have more contours. I will get a card this weekend. Thanks for your opinions.

You will enjoy the data on the Navionics chip. They are awesome! The new Freshest Data upgrade feature allows you to update your chip for the next 12-months. This is huge as they are adding lakes and info every week.

I tried to dl the freshest data to my platinum card and could not get it to dl. I got to the page that says load chip and nothing happens. I called Navionics and went thru it with them. I was told my older card reader would not handle the new card. The guy was very nice and said he would ship me a new card reader. That was great but when I looked at the UPS site they said it will take a week to get here. Just be glad when it arrives so I can use it. Going to Falcon today and would have liked to have the latest data.

As far as I can tell all the features work perfectly on my Gen2 Hds-10. Only had it on the water once so far.

I just bought the Premium South card for my HB 998. It has a weird pale green shaded area around a large portion of the lake(I was on Rayburn)It doesnt appear to follow the contour lines either..also doesnt show depth on contour line either in some areas..Any suggestions?

The "green" is indicating flooded timber. In the areas the survey detected flooded timber we now shoow that as a green area to give you an idea where the timber is.

Which one would be best for a hummingbird 788c? I have a great hot maps chip to trade or sale and I took it out of a Lowrance HDS 5

I have tried everything that I can think of, in order to get the "platinum" features to work on my 898 and never can get it to do anything when it comes to 3D or aerial images on HD lakes. I have gone through every zoom level possible on both the Birds Eye view and the overhead map, and nothing. I contacted Navionics and spoke with someone in their customer service department about it, and they were no help whatsoever. I bought the card in brand new condition from an individual, so the only solution that the customer service agent had to offer was to tell me "you can buy a new card for $199." They were not willing to let me send the card in to them, so they could take a look at it and see if there was something wrong with it. I cannot understand why they were not willing to at least look at it for me, since it is obviously a new card that checks out to be eligible for the Freshest Data Updates, after I put it in my computer. Pretty chickenshit of them, if you ask me.
