Caught a six pack of Coors Light in a fish basket on Whitney a few years back! Wasnt half bad.

I used to catch the little Chain Pickerel on a regular basis on the Sabine River and the sloughs off it.  I caught a Bullfrog that was a little over 1 lb on a Red Fin topwater in a friends pond.  The weirdest would have to be the 4-1/2 or 5' Alligator I caught on a Slug-O with a 5/0 Gamakatsu worm hook!  My wife said "If you would have caught that while I wasn't with you I would have thought you were making up a 'big fish tale' for sure!"  BigDozer66

I was throwing a crankbait and caught some wadded up mono with a dead about 3 pound catfish on the end - also caught some womens underwear on a crankbait one time.

About 50 years ago, I caught a white sturgeon in the Red River while catfishing. My buddy and I had no idea what it was until we looked it up in a "World Book" encyclopedia. (No computers or smart phones in those days, boys!)
In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

I caught a Nikon coolpix water proof digital camera in about 8' of water in Cedar creek. The pictures on it were interesting to say the least.
My friend caught a Rolex Yachtmaster out of the back of my boat throwing a hellbender around some docks at Texoma .
He also caught a unopened 6 pack of miller lite on a crank bait in Lewisville.
Wife caught a S&W .38 special by the trigger guard out of Fork beside the 154 bridge had 3 spent and 2 live cartridges, it had no rust.
Weirdest thing had to be the halloween costume / cape with a built in mask/face fishing right at dark on Twok.
As I pulled it out my friend dropped his rod/reel and jumped out of the boat.
Probably should let the cops know about that. It was probably used in a crime.

Caught a bowfin at fork. It weighed about 5#. Did not have a clue what it was and had to ask someone when I got back to the bank.

Fished all day and never got a bite. When I reeled in I caught an old kerosene lantern and it was still lit.....

THAT was probably the best, most funny thing I've heard in a long time...only because the mental image of a man leaping from the boat to escape the monsters from the depths!

I've caught a duck. it had went under water to get minnow i guess. i never saw it go under. when my reel when down and i set the hook i thought i had a beast...but it was a duck.
