I've got a buddy that is just starting to get into bass fishing. He asked what I thought about these rods compaired to BPS rods. There isn't an Academy store close to us in NC. What do you guys think

Great performance and features for the money. Some folks have had durability issues with them. I've broken one myself (my fault however). Academy stands behind them and will exchange them no questions asked. Never fished with a bass pro rod.

Get the H2O for starters, but dont get more than 2. Academy will warranty them all day long if something happens. Reason to not get more than 2 is because if your buddy gets serious he will want better stuff. Its good for starting out though.

good feeling rods but will eventually break sooner than later , but as stated easy returning if they have that model.

I'm just getting back in the fishing game after taking 8 years off. I purchased an H2O with all star rod and I have no complaints. In fact, I plan on purchasing several more.
