I did not get out until late, launching at 2PM to blue skies and temperatures in the lower 90s. The winds were out of the south at about 10 MPH and the water temperature was holding at 81 degrees. My first stop was in a cove that to my surprise had no-one in it. I let the kids swim while I walked the bank to see if I could catch something. After about an hour and a half with not so much as a bite, we moved to another area of the lake where the kids could swim and where I might have a better chance of catching something. At our next stop and standing in water up to about my waist, I threw a shacky-head out as far as I could and began working it back in. After losing 2 on snags I finally managed to hook a nice 2.5 pounder. Then about 4 casts later I hook a nice 3.2 pounder and on my very next cast I set the hook on what turned out to be a real nice 11.3 pounder. All while the kids were swimming, the boat beached and standing in waist deep water. I have posted the picture of the 11.3 pounder on my web site www.surestrikeguideservice.com and on www.fishhound.com. I launched today at 6:30AM to light winds, partly cloudy skies, temperatures in the upper 80s and a water temperature of 81 degrees. My plan for today was to fish a few areas that I have not fished in for a couple of weeks and to fish all Topwater Baits. I found a few shallow water grass beds and fished the tops with a Popper and a Frog. The Frog produced 3 Largemouth Bass, all in the 3 pound range. The Popper nothing . Fished all the areas I wanted too and wanting to be off the water before the crazies got out there, so I ended my trip at 9:30AM with only the 3 fish. I check this board every few days in hopes of a new report. Didn't get to fish Stillhouse this past weekend but I will be this weekend. Sounds like I may be moving around looking for the fish.

Find the grass and you'll find fish.

Glad somone is catching them there. I fished for 3 days (2 at Stillhouse 1 at Belton) over the Memorial Day weekend and did not boat 1 fish.

Looks like its LBJ this weekend.
