Haven't been driving past Corpus Christi A&M on shoreline for a while. We did so the other day and we were surprised to see a gate across the road. Anyone know when and why there is a gate up on the road going towards the base before the bridge? There was good fishing at the bridge there before.

The base own that area now and closed that military gate up too or what?

If you go past that gate for any length of time - you will be escorted out and they have you and your car checked out.

Oso bridge is closed to the public now? That's sucks. That was a prime fishing spot. We used to go there all the time. I wonder why they closed it.

It is a trend now. The public is being slowly pushed out of places they have used for fishing and hunting for year. San Luis Pass Pier was destroyed by Ike in 2008 and the state won't allow it to be rebuilt. It destroyed and rebuilt after Carla and Alicia. No one knows why this time the state won't give a permit to rebuild it.
