Anyone know of a strong anchor that will hold on the slick bottoms of LL in high winds? I got skunked yesterday bc I couldn't stay anchored in place. So I had to go sight-seeing in party cove, haha (what a chaotic mess that was).

A lot of people will say box anchors. They work very well but are large and heavy. Fortress/Guardian(cheaper version, think Lexus/Toyota) work great and are very small/light for their holding power.

I am not sure where your are located, but if you are in DFW you can box anchors from ChuckP. Send him a PM.

I have two diggers and one box. I believe the box holds better with less rope then the diggers.

I use a danforth style and a box anchor on my boat. You have to let out a lot more rope out with the danforth anchor than a box anchor. My box anchor will hold the boat in any conditions and nearly all different types of bottom.

Box anchors are great. I have two for sale that my dad made. They are 14"x14" and weigh about 20 lbs. And yes, they do work on Lewisville.

That was a very good move the 15# hold's my 22' in anything 20 mph or below, and trips and pulls easy.

Good move, been using Diggers for years and they work well. I built some box anchors to see what the fuss was all about. Wasn't impressed and ended up with a backache.
