Nice Fish! GV has such pretty Buffs. smile When you're fishing for Buffalo/Carp, always keep one line much further out than the others, time and time again for me at least, that's been the line that brings in the largest fish.

Recent Notables: 40lb Flathead, 30lb Carp, 25lb Buffalo.

Problem is I can't get it too far without my dough bait falling off. I make my own and I can get it extremely far without a weight.

Tips?

One thing I like to do when making my own dough bait is sometimes mold it around a styrofoam ball or perhaps a small plastic ball (stick a lot of small holes in it), etc, etc.

The styrofoam ends up floating off the bottom acting as a pop up bait, the plastic balls end up having bits of the dough inside the balls as well, holding the scent etc. You can also take some nlyon panty hose and wrap it around a big dough ball, etc.

All of these methods can help cast out further, etc, etc. But work on that cast as well. You're not trying to be Indiana Jones out there. wink lol.. Learn the long lob cast, where you make a high arcing cast, trying to put as little pressure as possible on the bait end.

Man...mmm.mmmm...one of my favorite dough baits is simply store bought banana nut muffins. Carp/Buffalo love em! smile

Free lined mono leader and a small hook. Using home made vanilla dough bait.

Catch em all!
