Did anyone notice the fine print on page 36 under "Freshwater Fishing Harvest Regulation", 3rd bullet down? That even though they raised the daily limit to 50 catfish per day, the possession limit remains at twice the "Statewide" daily limit of 50. I wonder how many people camping or on an extended stay know this rule?

The daily limit on catfish is still 25.

There are a few different lakes like that. I'm not sure how the possession limit would work.

I saw a thread on this earlier about Lake Livingston blues 50 fish limit that had some solid answers , but couldnt find it today . Hopefully someone on here with a better search knowledge can find it for you .

Blues, the there is not catfish exception. Possession is 50.

Without a guide, most won't catch over 50 keepers in a weekend anyway. At least I won't.

in 3 trips last week, my dad and i have brought home 159. that's just a little over a 1 man limit per day. probably caught 200 total in those 3 trips. averaged about 3 hours of fishing each morning.

Lake Palestine
Blues and Channel cats are 50 Daily bag limit, with no more than five over 20 inches.
Flatheads are still at the statewide Daily bag limit of 5. minimum of 18 inches.
I fish lake palestine and i am glad they did this because the lake is stock full of small channel cats, and us cat anglers need to get tons of these small ones out, and at the same time releasing all the larger cats to help maintain a great catfish fishery for years to come. i release all of my cats over 15lbs.
