The unit has never displayed the card. When I go to gps diagnostics in the simulation mode the unit never confirms that the lake master card is in the card reader. I mounted the unit on my buddys system and it doesn't work there either. I should mention that once, after I did the software download. the unit froze up. It was lit up, but wouldn't respond to button commands. The screen wouldn't move, it would not shut off. I lifted the unit off of the mounting bracket and it shut off. When I put it back on the mount and turned it on , it was working again. The fact that the unit does not recognize that the lake master card is in the reader tells me that something is wrong with the unit, and I should return it to Humminbird for repair. The lake master card says it is compatible with hummingbird units. What is your advice ? Thanks.

Do you have a Blank SD Card? Can you try saving a Screen Capture to the SD Card this will test if the SD Card Reader is functioning properly. If not call HB Customer Service and they can can test and repair. You can also send the card with it and they can make sure both are operating properly.

Yes Doug, I've tried putting a blank SD card in the reader, the machine doesn't acknowledge it either. Thanks for your response.

Are you deleting the tracks or saving them? Saving them defaults to dots. Clearing them removes them. Go to trracks and located saved tracks and remove the unneeded tracks.

DI is created from the same SI Elements. So it's not the transducer if DI Works.

If you save a track it will save and the saved track is a breadcrumb trail by default unless you change the settings for the saved trail. Go to the Tracks in the Nav Menu and looked at saved tracks and hide them or delete them and should get rid of the breadcrumb trails.

Doug, I have already sent my unit to HB for warranty service but I would like to know what you think. I went out on Hubbard and as long as I was in shallow water (3-10 ft) the DI and SI looked good but as I started moving out to deeper water it gradually became dimmer and dimmer until DI was just a light wash out and SI was so dark that it could not be seen. This finally happened in about 30+ ft of water. What was strange to me is that sonar was still clear as all get out. Anyway I called HB and the lady said that it didn't sound right and to send it in. $30.44 to ship with $1000 insurance and she also said that HB usually has 5 day turn-around smile so that sounds good. What do think could have happened to the unit. That was my first real on the water test with it. I ran sensitivity up and down and it didn't help.
Thanks

Do you know someone that has a similar unit. You could cross test your head unit on their transducer and their headunit on your transducer that is the best way to test.
