I was fishing a weightless t rig today and I got a ton a strikes. But caught a few fish. First thought was the worm was skin hooked to deep so I tex-posed it and still just strikes. So I waited till I felt the weight of the fish. Still nothing. I checked the hook and sharpens it and did the finger nail test and it stuck into my finger nail. So I casted out again and still just tapping. What am I doing wrong?

That's inches, not pounds.

Try changing colors and see if they will take it better. If that doesn't work try a crankbait or a spinnerbait for a reaction strike.

I was slaying them with a spinner and a beetle spin. But then they stopped biting that so I went with something a bit more subtle.

Try changing to wacky style. I have done it with success. Just the different bait action makes them bite.

I tried that too but I changed shortly after. I guess my patience hasn't been fully restored.

I have a pond with the same size fish next to my house. When I get tired of the beetle spin I switch to the weightless worm as well. I typically start off with a 4 to 5 inch yamamoto. If that does not work I will cut a fourth of it off and fish with the 3 to 3.75 inch worm. If still nothing I downsize once more to a 2 to 2.5 inch worm. Colors at my pond normally does not matter so when I find the right size the bite is on.

Downsize X 5.

I caught a 4 lber in a pond close to me yesterday. . .on two tiny wax worms on a perch hook. . .I'm suprized a fish that size would even notice those two tiny worms, much less eat them. After that I started clipping an inch off of my 4" finesse worm and threw it on a shakey head and caught 6 fish in an hour.

A lot of ponds around here get beat to hell in the summer. You gotta outthink the bass sometimes.

I fish shallow creeks all the time and for that I use a weightless TX-Rig.

I get the same thing.
Its always sunnies, gills, and rios that are causing it

A quick jerk usually scares them off

When using the Texas rig, bend the point of your hook out just a tad, very little will do it, and see if your catch rate doesn't improve.
