Right now just put in at the spillway public use ramp at about 3:30 am. Go out of that cove take a right and go to the intake on the right bank of the dam. Drop live shad hooked through the nose about 30 foot down on the keep out bouy line around the intake and hang on. Its good like this till about 6:20am. Also good late evening but hard to find a spot on the bouy line late evening. I was just there last week and it was pretty good and the guide I was with said it will get better in that spot for the next month and then they will move out into the deep water trees.

I've heard it is harder to catch bait than stripers up there.

Get bait at Wright Pattman on the way up or stop at Lake De Gray. They go all the way into Texas from there to get bait sometimes.

the spawn is over, but most fish still working there back into the lake from the river. you can catch stripers all over the lake, several points, sunken islands, standing submurged timber will hold fish. get a good map of the lake, fishing can be difficult at times, if you have a good graph and can locate fish on it you will be able to catch them. live bait works the best (shad, large river minnows, gold fish) all work. large swim baits and redfins work well too. the damn area will have fish there early in the morning as the earlier poster provided. that area can be hard to fish - everyone tries there - i would try to hire a guide first - goodluck clete
