Long nose can get double that size, I'm not knocking the fish or the lady that caught it is a very nice fish.

Where did you see a 104" longnose gar

I didn't say twice that length I said twice that size, I didnt have the girth measurement for that one, but judging from the pic, I'd say it's around 20lbs maybe 25. State record is 50, and most lake records are 25+ easy. I caught a 58" long nose Saturday, 26.5 lbs and it was more than 10lbs shy of the lake record. There was a 40+ caught outta the red river not long ago. Old gar don't keep growing in length, it's all about girth. I don't want to turn this into a debate, like I'm trying to belittle the young lady's catch, Im not, I shoulda kept my mouth shut.

I will say it again nice fish! and congrats to the young lady that caught it.
