Just curious does anyone here notice a difference in the bite? Last time I went a friend with me used it most of the time and wasn't getting bit as much. He switched and the bite picked up for him.

Has anyone used it and never felt like it made a difference?

I think alot of that has to do with what type of cover you are fishing. If its thick huisache, probably doesn;t matter as much. If your fishing offshore rock, then I'd say it does and I'd go with straight flouro.

I used 65lb Power Pro on all my flippin baits when I was down there last month and never had a problem with the bite. My partner had floro and had the same results as I did. I dont think it makes that big a difference when hitting the brush and I would rather not have a bite, then get the fish of a life time on and have it break the line. Only problem I had was I was straiting a 8/0 hook with my set up!!!!! Go big, or go home I always say!!!!

I have braid for my flipping as well and 25 lb fluoro as well. However with cranking I'm going to stick with something that gets it down where I need it.

Appreciate the feed back.

I use 50 or 65 pound power pro braid or 25 pound Seguar abraz x fluorocarbon. The braid doesn't seem to bother the fish as far as I can tell.

well said....

If you do go braid, 50 lb is the min. and 65 is preferable. The rocks just eat it up.

I used 20lb fluoro last time I was there and never had a problem. I agree that if you are fishing the heavy cover braid probably doesnt matter. Dont crank your drag all the way down and you wont "get your heart broke" I had more problems with them head shking my hook out of their mouth then I did line breaking or hooks getting straightened.

I use braid when running spinnerbaits through heavy cover. Other than that 25lb for plastics and jigs and less for cranking.

Had my azz handed to me last week pitching with 25 lb fluoro. Went to 65 lb braid with 40 lb fluoro leader on day two with much better landing success. Offshore I'm all fluoro.

forgot to mention....all of my crigs have 65 lb braid for the main line. Really helps with the feel and hook-ups when fishing deep structure. Biggest problem people have with that set up is breaking the fluoro leader on the hookset. The best hookset is to reel up tight and pull on tight line. Any sort of snap hookset will be game over on an elite level fish. It takes some getting used to and is easier to see than to explain.
