I would go with Bass Pro. They seem to have better fishing equipment for all applications over Cabelas. Cabelas is a hunting store IMO.

If you're just looking for tying materials, Barlows would be worth the drive to Richardson.

Actually most of the stuff at cabelas and bass pro are the same product made by the same company history a different logo on it. I will say that I think bass pro has a better variety than the Allen cabelas though
