It is my grandson's birthday this weekend and we are headed to Turner Falls Park, for some hiking, swimming and possibly even fishing. We will only be up there two days, is fishing in the park worth buying the nonresident fishing license for a few days?
I know it is good fishing when they stock trout in the winter time, but what about now? I would like to do some night fishing or real early morning fishing. While the Mom and Grandma sleep the boys can go fishing.
Any thoughts are appreciated. And yes I know it will be crowded.

Don't know about Turner Falls. But you might try giving the OK Dept. of Wildlife Conservation a call. They should be able to help. Also there website is www.wildlifedepartment.com
When and if they do get my guns...they will most definitely be hot and empty. Vera's PB=45.17 Jasons PB=76.94

about 5 years ago my friends and i went camping for the 4th of july we caught plenty of sunfish and that is all... we did see a few mega trout but the would go back farther then we could wade... also we didnt fish/camp down low where people swim. we would gooo way way up and trek to the water and make a camp ground...

If Grandpa is a Texas resident at least 65, he should be exempt. The same goes for Oklahoman's fishing Texas. If you get to Sulphur, it has the old Platte National Park. Pretty area with shallow stream running through it. Arbuckle Lake is nearby, too.

Last summer i spent a couple days there and brought some fishing tackle to see how it was. Early in the mornings (around 7:30) i would wake up and head down to the main waterfall and there were NO people. It was so peaceful and quiet. I caught quite a few bass over 12 inches and a couple sunfish all on senkos. A couple of the smaller fishing holes on the river had a couple small bass in them, but i couldnt get them to bite. In my opinion, great place to fish if you are willing to get up early!
